Jordan and April both grew up in Christian homes and made decisions for Christ early on in life. Their first short-term missions trip together was to Haiti in 2007. God placed a desire in their hearts to return someday to Haiti long term. Several more short-term trips followed. During a trip to Haiti in March 2016, Jordan felt prompted that the time to commit to Haiti on a long-term basis might be coming soon, and April agreed.
After applying as Global Partners long-term missionaries, Jordan and April were appointed in September 2016. It is exciting for them to see God opening doors during the process, giving clear confirmation that this is God’s plan for their family. They are humbled that God has chosen them to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this way.
The Tattons look forward to serving alongside their Haitian brothers and sisters, partnering in the work God is already doing in Haiti. It is their desire to show the love of Jesus in practical and tangible ways: through relationship building, aid and development work, and compassionate ministries. Their purpose in this is to see lives transformed for the Kingdom of God.
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others (Romans 12:4-5 NIV).
